![]() The owner, in a not so nice way, told them he wanted a lot of things including a castle in England but that wasn't happening either. They wanted a four top and it was explained to them nothing was available and they continued on. The only thing I would say is that the chef/owner was not so nice to an older couple that came for dinner and requested a table larger than a two top available. Everything was just really good and authentic. This was chicken breast in a casserole with potatoes, hot cherry peppers, olives, raisins, garbanzo beans and peppers - all in a fabulous sauce. We then ordered the cazuela de pollo marroqui. They were stuffed with goat cheese, spinach, raisins and pine nuts all in a terrific sauce. The stuffed peppers were absolutely delicious. The portion was a good size and the sauce was great for dipping the bread, which by the way they kept on bringing out. The shrimp came out sizzling in the dish and were quite tasty. One was the shrimp in garlic sauce and the other was a stuffed pepper. Once inside, it felt homey and has a nice country Spanish style. It is located in a small strip mall next to a check cashing store. We read about this restaurant on trip advisor and thought we would give it a try. A BIG TALL WINE GLASS is not going to fulfill your miserable life and It is the last thing you need. You are, as good of a food critic, as you probably are selling pools. Year after year Great reviews in CHECK PLEASE and overall great reviews from our customers. Year after year BEST OF many things at OPEN TABLE. Certificate of excellence by TRIP ADVISOR. ![]() 3.5 stars rated (out of 4) by the Sun Sentinel and The Miami Herald. ![]() ![]() "THIS PLACE IS NEVER GOING TO MAKE IT" After not making it for 9 years we are: "BEST Restaurant in broward and palm beach" by the New Times Magazine. Yes, I did told you NOT to come, because I knew you were trouble, your arrogance and egotism I could taste over the phone. Guess what, we do not want your money, let someone else keep it and be your contemporary slave. We do not have to bow, because you bring money to trade for food and service. I am the chef and the owner of candela restaurant and this is my response to you: Sure you are not allowed in my restaurant ever again. Your review is a sham, full of lies and misrepresentations. Obviously, we will NEVER set foot in this insane place again! Way expensive.small portions.poor quality.poor service and a CRAZY ungrateful owner. This a mediocre restaurant at best and treating customers this way is a guarantee his doors will close soon. I have NEVER been thrown out of a restaurant in my life. He embarrassed me personally by screaming that " I can no longer set foot in his restaurant" and we need to finish up and we were not welcome to order desert - "Just pay and get out." One of our party walked out and paid the full bill just so we could get out quickly. Once we ordered more than $600.00 worth of food, Armando came in again and stood there screaming at us. He had left the glass on the table so I went ahead and used the glass after all. Unfortunately the rest of our crew had their heart set on the food so in an effort to go with the flow I sat down. Armando proceeded to come in and scream at me about the glass and I actually stood up and wanted to leave and go elsewhere. I noticed the restaurant was empty.maybe three tables had people on a Saturday night. I walked into the other room and took a large wine glass off a table. I made it clear that we did not ask to be placed in this room and was still told no. I asked for a larger glass and was told "NO, we do not sere large glasses in this room. We ordered the wine and we were served in these tiny little glasses. We were placed in a room on the side and after 20 minutes, I had to go out and ask if we were going to get service. I think he was most concerned that we would spend a minimum of $35 per person which I knew we would surpass as we enjoy wine. He stated, "You have to order family style and if you don't want to do it don't come!" That should have told me something right there but I kept him on the phone and in the end I felt we could make it work. I first received a very angry phone call from the owner whom I think is Armando. We always like to support small businesses in our community so when ten of us got together for dinner, we made our reservation here. While the food is above average.not great but above average this owner has grown far bigger in his mind than his dinky restaurant warrants. The restaurant business is a service business and this place doesn't know the meaning of the word.
